Want to improve staff retention? Try Automation.

When we go to work, there are jobs that we like to do, but there are also the tedious day-to-day tasks that don’t feel as rewarding. Sometimes we spend hours trying to accomplish them. These repetitive jobs don’t feel like the best use of our time—and they probably aren’t. 

A recent State of Workplace Survey reported that employees spend an average of 520 hours each year on repetitive services and tasks that could be automated. This means that ten hours each week is spent on unproductive tasks like password reset requests, contract reviews, and approvals, emailing clients, updating databases, entering data and other similar jobs.

Today’s employees want rewarding roles and are willing to switch companies if they truly aren’t happy. This is especially true among younger employees, who may change jobs as often as four times in 10 years until they find the right fit.

Spending hours and hours on unproductive tasks is one of the things that take a toll on employees—and replacing unproductive tasks with automation is a simple and inexpensive staff retention strategy. Finding the right technology to automate day-to-day tasks eases stress by eliminating tedious or repetitive work, and allows employees to do the work they were hired to do. It’s an important step in increasing employee happiness, engagement, and contribution.

  • Better communication. Automation automatically notifies the appropriate employee when a task is complete.
